Miracles of Jesus part 4

Image
Miracles of Jesus part 4 Jesus heals the Centurion's servant Matthew 8 vs 5-13 The Centurion came to Jesus "Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly"  Jesus said "I will come and heal him". The Centurion answered "Lord, speak only and my servant shall be healed".   The Centurion explained how he understood 'Authority' because he himself was a man under Authority and had men under his Authority.  He recognised that Jesus was under the Authority of the Living God and that if he 'spoke' the sickness would have to obey him.  Jesus told this Centurion that he had great faith. Jesus said "Go - let it be done for you as you believed"  and the servant was healed at that very moment. We see that this Centurion had great faith because he understood about Authority and this is very important, because there are many Christians who believe that Jesus has All Power - but they do not understand that Jesus has not only...

Miracles of Jesus Part 3

Miracles of Jesus Part 3 Jesus heals a Leper Matthew 8v 2-3  "And behold a leper came to Jesus and knelt before him, saying "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean".  Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will, be clean" and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.  I always thought that Leprosy was a skin disease, that made people 'unclean' or contagious so they were forced to live in isolation.  But in my study I have found that Leprosy in the Bible was much more than this.   This is the most simple definition I could find. Leprosy  was "the outward and visible sign of the innermost spiritual corruption; a meet emblem in its small beginnings, its gradual spread, its internal disfigurement, its dissolution little by little of the whole body, of that which corrupts, degrades, and defiles man's inner nature, and renders him unmeet to enter the presence of a pure and holy God" The most simple way I can put it -  is Leprosy...

Miracles of Jesus Part 2

Miracles of Jesus Part 2  Jesus heals a man with a withered hand Mark chapter 3.  Jesus entered the synagogue and there was a man with a withered hand and the religious leaders watched Jesus to see what he would do, whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him.  Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, "Come here" and he said to the religious leaders "Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?"  But they were silent.  And He looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man "Stretch out your hand", He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. Once again we see the Religious Leaders looking for an occasion to accuse Jesus, but again we see that Jesus was not ignorant of their plans, he knew and he once again spoke with wisdom, to silence his accusers.  Jesus confronted the religious leaders with Holy Ghost boldness and wisdom.  But his compa...

Miracles of Jesus part 1

Image
Miracles of Jesus Part 1  I have been studying the life of Jesus regarding the miracles that he performed, I wanted to see for myself what was it that he did, what did he say, how did he approach people and situations etc. Because we are called to be like him and to do the things he did.  And although every example is different, I want to share with you some thoughts from the different stories and miracles that Jesus did, because I believe that God is raising up his Church once again to not only Preach the Word but to experience the miracles, signs and wonders that Jesus said would follow the preaching of the Word. (Mark 16.)  Many today say that the day of miracles is over, but the Bible clearly states that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13v8)  and so many other scriptures that tell us that His Word will never pass away.  The thing to understand is that times change, cultures change, BUT God never changes, the kingdom of...

He Restores my Soul

Image
He Restores my Soul Psalm 23 v 3  - He restoreth my soul;  he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness, for his name's sake. When Jesus came to the earth to die on the cross, he came to save us from the sinful fallen nature of mankind - every one is born into this world spiritually dead, that is, cut of and separated from the Father of Creation because of sin.  But Praise God, that he sent his only begotten Son, who became the Lamb of God to take our place on the cross, to pay the price of punishment for our sinful nature so that we could be adopted into his family and become the children of God.  Our Spirits were dead in sin, but once we received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, our Spirits were Born Again - that is made alive, connected again to God, the giver of all life.  It is so important to realise and know that our Spirits were not healed - but made alive - Born Again - and therefore they are perfect before the Father because of Jesus.  We are ...

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted

Image
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34 v 18 " The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;  he rescues those whose spirits are crushed". I'm sure you have probably heard this scripture many times.  I have used it many times trying to bring comfort to those who are going through difficult situations, but over the last few years this scripture and all of Psalm 34 has become very real to me but in a very different understanding, not just as a comfort but it has become more a strength and a personal testimony. I will try to explain, as simply as I can.  I know that God is very near to all, as many Preachers and Teachers will remind us that he is only a prayer away. And that anyone who calls on his name shall be saved.  And I believe that when we are broken hearted and going through very difficult times that his love is so great that he is patiently and lovingly waiting for us to call out to him, for he is more willing to help us than we are ready and willing to...

Prepare the Way for the Lord

Image
Prepare the Way for the Lord Isaiah 40 vs 1 - 5 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.  Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned;  for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins.  The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low:  and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together:  for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. This is such a beautiful and powerful scripture, the Prophet Isaiah was speaking and writing being inspired by the Holy Ghost about the Coming of the Messiah.  He was looking ahead to the greatest event in history and saying that nothing would be able to stop or hi...
