Psalm 86 - Thou art God alone

Psalm 86 v10-12 Thou Art God Alone In life it is the simple things that bring us the most joy and nothing brings joy to the soul like singing as you go about your day.  Ephesians ch.5 vs 18-20 tell us "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to reckless indiscretion.  Instead, be filled with the Spirit.  Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, Always giving thanks to God the father for everything in the name of the our Lord Jesus Christ.  This little chorus was written in 1972.  Taken directly from Psalm 86 vs 10-12. Let us Read this beautiful Psalm and Magnify the Lord together:-  Bow down thine ear, O  Lord , hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and

"Come unto me, all  ye  that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.   For my yoke  is  easy, and my burden is light."  Matthew 11 vs 28-30 This is one of my favourite scriptures.  I love that Jesus has given us an open invitation to come unto him, he has already made the way for us.  Hebrews 4 v 16 tells says " Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need"  To approach or to come unto him, takes conscious effort - it is movement.  So how do we approach the God of Creation? We all know what it is like to carry a heavy burden and what a great relief it is to lay it down or let someone else lift that burden.  Or after a long journey or hard days work, what a beautiful thing it is to come home.  Like the old saying "there's no place like home"
