Jesus Himself took my weakness

Jesus himself took my weakness

Matthew 8 vs 1-17

When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.  And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.  And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.  And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,  And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.  And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.  When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.  And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.  And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.  And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

This little chorus was written in 1970 using this scripture from Matthew 8 v 17.  It is very simple to learn and you could easily sing it to yourself, and allow the mighty revelation of it to flow out through your spirit into your soul and your body.

Jesus himself took my weakness and carried away my sickness

Jesus himself took my weakness and carried my sickness away

Such a powerful revelation.  Singing the scripture is a good way of learning scripture but also for helping us to focus our minds on Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal the depth of his Truth to us and in us.

I have put together some scriptures for healing and you can read aloud or listen.  Whichever works for you.  But don't just do it once, we must hide it in our hearts like a seed and allow it to grow, by reading, listening and singing over and over again, with a prayerful and open heart.

Father God we thank you for your great love toward us that you sent your Son Jesus to die for us.  We honour your name and your Word as we draw aside to you today.  Holy Spirit you are the one who helps us to understand the scriptures and to know more of Jesus in our hearts and lives.  As we ponder over these scriptures we ask you to come and open the eyes of our understanding and help us to receive the mighty revelation and manifestation of the healing power of our God.  We give all praise to Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.  We give thanks to him for taking our place on the cross and paying the price for all our sin, sickness and disease. Amen.

Isaiah 53 vs 3-5

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.  Like one from whom me hide their faces.  He was despised and we esteemed him not.  Surely He took on our infirmities and carried our sorrows;  yet we considered him stricken by God, struck down and afflicted.  But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Romans 4 v 25

He was delivered over to death for our trespasses and raised to life for our justification.

1 Peter 2 v 24

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness By His stripes you are healed.

Galatians 3 v 13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us;  for it is written 'cursed is every man that hangeth on a tree'.

Lord we believe your Word and we believe that Jesus paid the price for us on the cross - so then we can say Thank you, Jesus for you took my weakness and carried my sickness away.

We can say "As it is written Jesus was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities; the chastisement or the punishment for my peace was put on him and with his stripes I am healed.

Proverbs 4 vs 20-22

May son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings.  Let them not depart from thine eyes;  keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So we can now say - God's Word is health to all my flesh.  His Word is medicine to my flesh.  The Word of God is full of the life of God.  His life is filling my spirit, as his Word is working in me now.  The life of God is flowing from his throne into my spirit and that life is flowing into my soul and into my body.  I believe his Word is working in me so therefore every cell in my body is responding to his life and strength now as his Word has free course in me.

Remember the scripture we read from Matthew 8 - And behold there came a leper and worshipped him saying, Lord if thou wilt, thou can make me clean.  and Jesus put forth his hand and touched him.  saying, I will; be thou clean.  And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

So we can now say - God wants me well.  Healing is the will of God.  and according to Philippians 2v13 God is at work in me right now to will and to do his good pleasure.  Healing is at work in me.

Colossians 1 v 13

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.

Because of Jesus I am qualified, and entitled and able to partake of my inheritance in Christ.  God says in psalm 103 v 3 that healing belongs to me. Therefore I refuse to be beaten out of my inheritance.  I choose to believe God's Word above all else.

1 Peter 2v24

Who his own self bare our sins in his body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed.

Therefore we can say, by his stripes I was healed.  Healing belongs to me.  I was healed 2000 years ago by the stripes Jesus bore for me.  By his stripes I was healed.  I am not trying to get healed, I have already got my healing, because by his stripes I was healed.  Thank you Jesus for taking my place, thank you for providing healing for me.  I receive it now by Grace through faith.

Philippians 2 v 13

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

God is at work in me.  Jehovah-Rapha is at work in me - healing me.  He is the Lord that healeth me.  God is greater than the devil.  Healing is greater than sickness.  God is at work in me - healing me. Amen.
